Vijay Gears Up for Gautham Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru

Some weeks back, the newspapers were full of advertisements of the yet-to-be launched filmYohan: Adhyayam Ondru showing IlayathalapathyVijay clad in a suit and holding a revolver inhis hands. The film would be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and the shooting schedule would kick off in the year 2012, the advertisement said.
Menon approached Ajith some time back to star in a film titled Thuppariyum Chandru but the actor couldn’t commit himself to star in the film due to his prior-committed shooting schedules. Menon wasn’t amused and vowed not to work with Ajith in future. Sources in Kollywood say that the script he had kept for Ajith has been spruced up for the Vijay starrer Yohan which would be shot mostly in the U.S.
Vijay is presently awaiting the release of his ‘Jayam’ Raja-directed Velayudham on the eve of Deepavali next month. After that, he’d be going all out to promote his Nanban directed byShankar and co-starring Jiiva, Srikanth, SJ Suriyah, Sathyaraj and Ileana. Nanban might be releasing on Pongal eve in January next year, after which Vijay would start work in Menon’s film.
Menon has, in the meantime, launched his next film Needhanae En Ponvasantham starring Jiiva and Samantha in lead roles. The film, a short-term production, would be completed by January so that Menon moves on to Yohan after that. Vijay is said to have already started preparing himself mentally to focus on the role he’d be playing in the film.
Though it’s not yet confirmed, sources say that Vijay is slated to play an investigative cop’s role in the film
