IT IS QUITE UNUSUAL FOR A VIJAY FILM!

Theri (aka) Therii #3

In a Vijay’s film, the action sequences are as important as the other elements in the film. Atlee directed Theri is a cop story and how will it not have the hero fighting the baddies?

Dhilip Subbarayan takes care of the stunt department in Theri and here is what he has to say about the fights in Theri. “There are about 7 separate action blocks in Theri which are quite unusual for a Vijay film which also has songs with other important elements.  We've made the routines look real and natural with very less VFX shots incorporated. All the fights will have a policemen kind of combats. The opening fight will have an emotional angle with the rest having it's own importance in the story. A scene required Vijay sir to jump off a bridge in Goa diving almost 90 feet into the river. No stunt doubles were involved and we were surprised with his commitment level. Thanks to Kalaippuli Thanu for granting all our needs”.

We have witnessed a little of the action part in the record breaking Theri teaser. Now let's wait for the trailer to show more of such highly talked about stunts.

I and Kaththi clash averted ?

No clash of the titans ? - I and Kaththi !Director Shankar is a highly meticulous perfectionist and this trait of him is evident in every film of his. From location scouting to casting to writing to appropriately planning the shoot of his big budgeted films, Shankar is scrupulous and plans well in advance and delivers the product in style.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaththi and Vikram's I were touted to have a major clash at the box-office for this Diwali. But now, the news we hear from sources within the industry is that I might not make it for Diwali. With little more work on the songs and VFX, the post- production alone is believed to take some more time.

Such a film with so much of effort having gone in, definitely deserves to be a properly finished product and the makers seem to be willing to wait patiently till they are fully satisfied with the movie. The expectation for I is already at an all time high. An official announcement is still yet to be made.

''When Vijay sir acts, even a very ordinary scene goes to a whole new level''

A.R.Murugadoss' emotional speech at the Kaththi audio launch

The captain of Team Kaththi, A.R.Murugadoss is a director who is celebrated all around the country as he has delivered hits in all the major film industries - Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. After Thuppakki, his second outing with Vijay, Kaththi is much-expected by the audiences and critics alike, and the film's music and teaser were released yesterday to kick-start the expectations aggressively. This is what ARM said at yesterday's formal launch event held at Chennai.

"Let me tell you people, I'm a Tamilian by birth and I'll die as a Tamilian only. Be it me or Vijay sir, we never go behind money. I was born and brought up here. Every cell of mine has Tamil encrypted in it. Kaththi is one such movie that'll be celebrated for its unity. After Thuppakki, I always intended to work with Vijay sir. Kaththi was a memorable time.

I just tell Vijay sir to recite, "I'm waiting". But when he enacts it, a very ordinary scene goes to a whole new level. With a slight tilt and the way he says it, I get stunned. Kaththi will have lot more of such gimmicks.

We were working back to back and I got a little tired, stressed, dehydrated and finally blacked out. When I opened my eyes at the hospital, I felt a little hazy. There was somebody standing in front of me and the doctor asked if I could see properly. When my vision got clear, as per the usual norms, doctor asked if I knew who was standing in front of me. It was Ilayathalapathy Vijay sir himself waiting there for me. If I didn't know who it was, even my son would beat me.

I asked Vijay sir if he likes Jagdeesh, Kadhiresan or Jeevanandham. He said Kadhiresan. This movie will exceed your expectations. Wait for Diwali, we are coming with a bang"

''Vijay sir was a baby to deal with''

Anirudh's speech at the Kaththi audio launch

Happening young composer Anirudh must be busy receiving accolade after accolade for his work in Kaththi, the Vijay - Murugadoss outing which has generated huge expectations. The music and teaser of the movie were released yesterday and the response from Vijay fans has been rousing.

At the formal launch event held at the Leela Palace hotel in Chennai, Anirudh expressed his happiness and his thought process while working on Kaththi

"The minute AR Murugadoss sir confirmed me for Kaththi, I had been awaiting the experience of working with Vijay anna. After Thuppakki, the legendary combination is coming back for a bigger, better movie and so the responsibility vested on my shoulders was unbearable till this day. I'm extremely happy for having satisfied Vijay fans more than anybody else. This day will be an unforgettable experience etched in my memories for ever.

When done with the 'Selfie Pulla' composition, we knew that this would be a treat for Vijay sir himself to sing, and even more for the fans and masses. At the recording, he was a baby to deal with. I loved his energy and subtle improvisations enhancing the song more than what I expected. He should sing more. He's a natural singer who can be a seasoned singer. I'm so happy that the songs have pleased you. Wait for Diwali. We are coming !"

Thupakki - Two songs remaining!

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has been busy with A R Murugadoss’s Thupakki. The latest we hear is that two songs remain to be shot for the film, But post-production and dubbing work is in full swing.

According to sources. Kajal Aggarwal had allotted dates to Murugadoss but unfortunately they couldn’t shoot the songs at that point due to other issues. Since the actress is already committed to numerous projects. Its tough for them to get the dates to wrap up the film. Thus, they are waiting for the actress to allot dates to complete the film.

Vijay meanwhile is focusing on dubbing for the film and waiting to complete the project. Sources say he is happy with the way the film has turned out and is looking forward to the film’s release in September.

Fans hijack Mugamoodi audio launch

A group of hardcore fans of Ilayathalapathy Vijay landed him in an embarrassing situation during the audio launch of Kollywood’s first superhero film Mugamoodi, that took place at a multiplex on Friday.
Vijay’s name was greeted with loud whistles and thunderous applause, and the launch turned out to be an unintentionally noisy one that he had little control over.

Mugamoodi is directed by Mysskin and has Pooja Hegde as Jiiva’s pair. A surprise guest at the event was Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, who had specially flown down from Bengaluru. Mysskin, Dhananjayan, Venkat Prabhu, Lingusamy, Kamila Nasser and Jayam Raja, who spoke on the occasion, felt the need to say a word or two about the Thuppaki star.

Despite his fans working themselves into a frenzy, the ever cool-and-composed Vijay, heaped laurels on Jiiva.

“My son Sanjay is a big fan of Jiiva. I am here not only because we have acted together in Nanban, I regularly watch Jiiva’s films and we keep in touch over phone. He is not only a great actor, but also a great human being. Like my son, I am also looking forward to watching Mugamoodi,” he said.

Jiiva said, “MM is a very important film in my career. Thanks to Mysskin sir.”

Narain, Selva, music director K, R.B. Choudhary, Karky, Gnanavel Raja, Kannan and Ravi K. Chandran among others, graced the occasion.

Venkat Prabhu wants to work with Vijay?

After teaming up with Ajith and now Karthi, director Venkat Prabhu is eyeing Ilayathalapathy Vijay for his next flick. The director, who is known for making commercial entertainer with a humour touch, recently expressed his wich to work with the Thuppakki actor in future. Vijay is currently busy with Murugadoss film and after that he will start working on Yohan with Gautham Menon.
